Classes, Tastings, and Other Events
Dark Chocolate Tastings
Our dark chocolate tastings feature fifteen chocolates in three flights, and provide an interactive tour covering origin, percentage, and brand. These tastings are designed to provide the attendees with an opportunity to learn what they love about chocolate, and to introduce them to the remarkable variety available in "plain" chocolate. Attendees will also learn everything they'll need to run their own tastings in the future. Our chocolate tastings are run in your home, office, or event space. An in-home tasting within an hour's drive of Waltham for up to 12 is $250; other sizes and locations can be arranged.
Truffle and Molded Chocolates Class
Want to learn how to do what we do? This class is designed to give you the skills you need to make delicious chocolates in your own home, using methods that produce good results (if not perfect professional looks) in a fraction of the time and effort of traditional professional chocolate techniques. You'll learn how to make truffles, temper chocolate, and create flavored chocolate bars, and get plenty of hands-on practice making your own creations to keep. A standard class takes 4-6 hours. (Why so long? Truffle filling, also known as ganache, takes time to set.) A class run in your home or event kitchen for up to 8 people, and located within an hour's drive of Waltham, is $450; other sizes and locations can be arranged.
Molded Chocolates Class
Looking for a fun educational party experience that's a smaller time commitment than our truffle class? The molded chocolates class will teach you basic chocolate tempering techniques and give you the chance to practice making your own molded chocolates, bars, and barks. A standard class lasts 2 hours. A class run in your home or event kitchen for up to 8 people, located within an hour's drive of Waltham, is $350; other sizes and locations can be arranged.
(New!) Mold-Making Class
Want to learn how to make your own custom chocolate molds? We're developing a class on moldmaking techniques, using heat-formed vacuum molding and silicone casting. This course is still a work in progress, so does not have standard times or costs; if you're interested, contact us and we can work out details.
